B. inggris NELSON MANDELA Born in the tiny village of Mvezo on the banks of the Mbashe River in Transkei on July 18 1918. Rolihlahla Mandela or Nelsen Mandela grew up as a village child in South Africa. In the Xhosa Janguage, Rolihlahla means "pulling the branch of a tree" but more commonly transiates as "troublemaker" During his twentes, Mandela actuvely took part in the anu-aparheid movement. He also joined the African National Congress in 1942. He orchestrated a campaign of peaceful, non violent deffance againts The South African Goverument and its racist policies for 20 years. In 1993, Mandela and South African Presidents, F.W. de Klerk, were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize for the effort to dismantle the country's apartheid system. In 1994, Mandela becamo South Africa's first black President. Then, Mandela's birthday was declared as "Mandeli Day". The purpose of this day is to promote global peace and celebrate the South African leader's legacy. Mandela died on December 5, 2013 at his house in Johannesburg.
